Chris Evans talks Captain America future and Spider-Man joining the MCU

Chris Evans has downplayed reports that he will walk away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his contract ends.

Evans is contracted to play Steve Rogers for a further two projects – Captain America: Civil War and the two-part Avengers: Infinity War – after which it is rumored that a different character will become Captain America.

“I gave an interview once where I said I was gonna try and focus a little more on directing, and that’s true, it’s what I’m excited about right now,” Evans told Digital Spy. “But acting is still… I love acting, in no way am I walking away from acting.

“With the shield, it’s a matter of whether or not Marvel wants to keep knocking, but my contract is up after the last Avengers movies.”

Watch the video above to see Evans and Jeremy Renner discuss Captain America and Hawkeye in Age of Ultron, and the addition of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
